I'd have it checked out by a Subaru dealer or independent specialist. Might cost you a few hundred, but I have a feeling it's not exactly in acceptable condition.

Yea there is a subaru specialist in my town but the car is about an hour away from me. He has all receipts for the work done on engine and sent me pics of them.

tell owner you'll pay for gas to drive it to specialist.

I would never buy a used car (especially a rebuilt) without getting it checked out.

just be cautious and don't get too emotional about it. There's always a rebuilt STI available :)
